No love the bright colours, there is too much dullness in colours these days. Every car you see seems to be some shade of silver or gray. Stand out, make a statement.

I always enjoy a rip round a trail centre, especially chucking in some of the black and red route sections, you are either met with surprise and a smile, or a look of disdain as if you don’t belong there.

Racing, is a social activity, it’s always nice to catch up with old pals and make new ones, that’s one of the great things with cross as everyone gets a race, and it’s all very close it’s a great way to meet lots of fellow racers.

I’ve looked at my data from Strava, from numerous races last year I raced gears, this year I raced singlespeed, for the same average heart rate, I have usually had a faster average speed. Rocket Rons when it’s muddy, pressure is a personal and course thing, last weekend I was running 25psi, no roots, just mud and grass, and week before 40psi lots of roots.

Thank you, an interesting read on the Niner RLT, love mine, it’s doing sterling service as SSCX race bike, it will probably evolve into something different over the summer.

It’s getting to proper cross conditions, love the sliding about, and having to be as smooth as possible otherwise it’s going to be a run/crash.

First season running a SSCX rather than gears, and on a very muddy course last week it was spot on, no broken mech for me, plenty did.

Interesting race at the Koppenburg, with a very dodgey assistance from a lapped team mate. Nice to see Ian Field well up there, until he twisted his chain, dropping him from 11th to 20th with an eventual finish in 15th, hopefully he can keep getting results like that.

Avid Ultimate Shorties are the best set of cantilevers I ever found, great feel, and can be run wide or narrow depending on your fancy and clearance requirements.
