Cyclocross Album by Cyclephotos Presents: Koppenberg and Zonhoven
Welcome to CABCP: Koppenberg and Zonhoven.
This weekend saw a warm and fast double header. Equal prize money for men and women at the Koppenberg Cross followed by the hell of sand that is Zonhoven.
Ellen Van Loy was almost attacked by a dog in the first lap, the dog’s teeth missed her ankle by milimeters.
Sophie de Boer powered to another win on the famous cobbles of the Koppenberg. De Boer is having her best season yet, not the least because she finished her studies earlier this year and now focuses solely on training.
Sven Nys started the last lap at the front of the field…
… but Wout Van Aert caught up with him, and after Jan Denuwelaere blocked Nys, won the race.
Nikki Harris raced in an excellent form on Sunday at Zonhoven. Her time is excellent as the European Championships will be held next Saturday.
Lars van der Haar’s camper van and the supporters
Tom Meeusen leads the field into the famous Zonhoven Sand pit in the first lap.
After a long draught, Kevin Pauwels won his first big race on Sunday at Zonhoven. The quiet Pauwels is autistic and thus he is not an easy interviewee for the Belgian press.
Don’t forget you can get more images just like these in the Cyclocross Album by visiting the Cyclephotos website and get a round up of last year’s season in the great coffee table book from the 13/14 season.
