LoveCrossed: a different sort of cross race

This weekend may be the traditional first Hallmark cards bonanza day for the cynics, but St Valentines day need not be all about slushy cards and overpriced roses as you – and your loved one should they be so inclined – could spend a romantic day breathing hard, sweating and getting all mucky – at LoveCrossed.

Billed as ‘a season ending celebration of all things Cyclo-cross’ it is being helpd on the 14th February 2015 at Chavenage House, Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Further more, the team behind the event have said, ‘LoveCrossed will be a hard and fast day of racing for all categories in and around the historic 16th century Chavenage manor house, from where Cromwell once plotted a battle. Bring your own fighting spirit as the course will be fast and tough, taking you through wide sections of parkland, challenging woodland single-track, steep muddy climbs with gravel and tarmac sections. And, just to make sure the course lives up to the billing, it has been co-designed and signed off by Elite riders.’

That romance bit we mentioned? How about the  ‘Couples’ relay’? Comprising of 2 laps ridden with your loved one. A romantic prize and the title of King and Queen of LoveCrossed await the victorious twosome.

There will be undercover hospitality on site, and the team will be there with bottle of our famous beer, and subs gifts, stickers and possibly even some hats and cowbells should we find them at the back of the shelves in time. The DOACC pair of Rachel and Chris are racing and should be on hand to chat real world racing, so do pop and say hi, grab a beer and end the season looking to more #dirtydropbargoodness.

For the serious racers, Saddleback UK have produced an exclusive winners jersey for the event and will be supplying a plethora of other goodies as title sponsor and the team behind the Bespoked hand built bike show will have a very special bike on display in collaboration with Enve.

Just wondered if there’s going to an official update on this event? It looked like a really friendly event, exactly the sort of thing to get friends and families interested in the ‘muddy side’. Unfortunately as Valentine’s Day coincided with half-term this year we couldn’t make it, so holding out for next year.
