Belgian cyclo cross team Realty Service Golden Palace has announced that recently  retired – and twice world champ – Niels Albert will join their team as manager for the next 2 years. With riders such as Rob Peters and the young Wout Van Aert in the team, they are looking to step up to challenge the more established players with advice and assistance from Niels, “Here I am team leader in the field, with a young team where I can pass my experience and know-how and a lot of potential for the coming seasons,”

Despite completing five seasons with the BKCP-Powerplus team, Albert was unable to move forward to  a management position there, and stated he would prefer to work with riders he could influence more, rather than established stars. “At BKCP there were not many options, especially as a team leader. It was better for me to create a completely new team., I hope the best rapport with BKCP-Powerplus to stand in the field. A new start, they have their riders, I will do my riders rouse (sic) during the cross “

We look forward to seeing the orange clad riders tearing up the sand pits in the coming season.
